Upcoming Album/CD releases?
Inspired by the release of Cold Play’s new album; Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends, I am going to list a couple of upcoming releases that will get your eardrums motivated next month..
Firstly, might I take a moment to pay praise to the slight amusement I got from Gordon Smart’s (The Sun) review of Cold Play’s new album, which (and I kid you not) began with; ‘An album by some band I had never heard of landed on my desk yesterday. I nearly lobbed it in the drawer of unheard music next to Scouting For Girls last release…’
If ever there was a couple of opening lines that screamed ‘unusual.’ that had to be a winner. I am slightly perplexed at the thought of him being paid to write that. It was worth a few giggles…
Now.. onward!
You should definitely be pre-ordering and preparing to get your teeth into:
CSS – Donkey – 22nd July.
CSS, the intense five piece original electro/pop Portuguese/Brazilian band are set to release their new album ‘Donkey’ on 22nd July. CSS or Cansei de Ser Sexy (Tired of Being Sexy) are an awesome sound, having originally formed without any musical skills and learned to play their instruments in basements and at gigs, they are utterly sound. Having decreased from six to five members they are eager to stay strong in the music scene and I anticipate the new album to be as good as, if not better than their last. If you love trashy/pop/soft electronic, check them out! They have strong female vocals and I love them. Recommended through and through.
Secondly;
Albert Hammond Jr (of the Strokes) – ¿Cómo Te Llama? – 8th July (US), 7th (rest of the world)

After his debut solo album; ‘Yours To Keep’ in 2006, this guy is back with his Spanish named album ‘¿Cómo Te Llama?’. For those of you who are not all that familiar with Spanish, this translates to ‘What is your name?’, an unusual choice for an album name. Albert found his way to the music scene via the now well known band The Strokes and has been filling our sterio’s ever since. You can check out his solo sound on his myspace, just click on his name highlighted above.. This is an album I literally can’t wait for..
