Welcome to the fresh new blog.

Jun 11, 2008 Posted Under: Blogroll, Gigs

It appears we have finally made it! We have safely made the journey into independence.. The blog is now on its own server and has its own domain! We would like to thank everyone involved in re-vamping the blog and give a huge thanks to all of our readers for having the patients while we changed everything over.

We have had a busy couple of months and I won’t babble any longer.. let me get down to business!

Sooooo… we have been a handful of places and met a whole bunch of people! Let me highlight the best of:

The Holloways, The Old Firestation, May 5th
(with support from Frank Turner & Hey Molly)
An absolutely awesome night, by gosh did we share some drinks that night.. then onward to iBar for a chilled after party. Frank Turner certainly had a good turn out with people screaming the lyrics, I was certainly impressed. The Holloways were brilliant, playing some of their top vibrations. They certainly kept the gig-goers motivated and moving, even singing happy birthday to one hawaiian-dressed chap.. The after party was chilled and they were very laid back and only too happy to share drink-infused conversation with strangers and fans alike. All in all, a night well spent. Defiantly a highlight.

Not Advised, iBar Bournemouth, May 22nd
(with Support Lost On Landing & Jaimison)
This was a good night. I must admit to having a few drinks upstairs before making a late appearance downstairs. I was primarily interested in Lost On Landing at this gig and had the chance to share a few words with them about the recording and launch of their new EP and rumors of a record label.. I have a full write up of that brilliant little interview that I will be posting up on friday, so definitely check that out. I also met a guy called Tom Clarke (host of Intricate Industries) so heres a shout out to him for the chit chat and also meeting at the Paige gig a week later!

Paige at iBar Bournemouth, May 29th
(with support from Last Letter Read & others)
This was not a gig I will forget for a while. It was a bit of an unusual one, I’ll give them that. With rumors of certain happenings in the boooys toilets, a rather drunk and excitable merch guy, a misunderstanding followed by a quick forgiving between Paige’s vocalist and his girlfriend, in the middle of a song… and, meeting up with Rob and LLR, all in one night… It was a good one, haha. The music was awesome, the sound quality somehow managed to be better than usual. Paige gave a pretty smart performance and the audience certainly engaged..

Army Of Freshman, The Wedgewood Rooms Portsmouth
(with support from Last Letter Read & others)
I hadn’t encountered much from these guys before but they were worth the watch. A really good gig. I hadn’t been to The Wedge in a while and this was a good welcome home. Army Of Freshman did a good job of blowing us wee British away. Check them out. Effing good night thank you very much. Oh… Last Letter Read were good too ^_^ It was good to hear them at a venue that was more equipt to give out a better sound. It was a really good night. If you weren’t there… where were you??
